Radiohead: Announcement "out of the blue" shakes up the industry

Intent on shaking up the record industry, Radiohead has set Blogistan alight with news that they will be self-releasing their new album In Rainbows through their website October 10th, rather than some time next year. Pre-orders are available now. The band is currently without a record contract and may choose not to sign a new one despite being one of the top free agents in the industry right now. The pre-ordering includes a simple download version or a "Discbox." The Discbox is priced at a hefty 40 quid ($80 for us yanks) but the single download is -- wait for it -- name your own price!
