Lucky Dube
South African reggae star Lucky Dube was murdered late Thursday during a carjacking in Johannesburg. Three gunmen sprayed Dube with bullets before fleeing as his Chrysler ran into a tree. Much of his initial music chronicled the oppression of apartheid in the early but Dube always maintained his focus on social consciousness in his lyrics. He would go on to gain an international following and become a leading voice in traditional reggae. Below is a clip for his song "The Way it Is".
