Procol Harum: "You're blocking me bloody view.."
British 60's stalwarts Procol Harum are fighting back against one-time organist Matthew Fisher. Fisher recently won a lawsuit awarding 40% of the royalties of Harum's biggest hit "A Whiter Shade of Pale" to him. The organ part itself is clearly adapted from Bach and the band's songwriter/leader Gary Brooker says that this was his idea and not Fisher's and that he and singer Keith Reid wrote the song prior to the organist joining the band. Brooker's lawyer explains the 40 year delay in Fisher's bringing suit to his enjoyment of the rock and roll lifestyle:
"There are advantages in being a pop star. Girls wink at you..."
