Melissa George: Coming to a couch near you

HBO is the most psychotherapy obsessed network ever. After years of Tony Soprano's "terapy" with Dr. Melfi and the current couples counseling of Tell Me You Love Me comes their most ambitious foray into Freud yet: 9 Weeks, 5 Days a week of In Treatment. Gabriel Byrne plays the shrink, Melissa George, Blair Underwood, Josh Charles and Embeth Davidtz are his patients. Monday through Thursdays episodes are his sessions with them followed by Friday which gives him a chance on the couch with Dianne Wiest as his therapist. HBO rolls the show out starting Monday January 28th. It will be interesting to see if the audience develops commitment issues towards this fascinating creative risk.
